John Schooler

John Schooler - Lifeguard Lieutenant and Community Volunteer Leader

John Schooler is a seasoned professional with experience in emergency services, education, and volunteer leadership. Based in San Diego, he has dedicated decades to contributing to his community through roles that emphasize technical skills and public safety. As a volunteer with Navigator Ministries, John Schooler supports Marine recruits at Camp Pendleton and the Marine Corps Recruit Depot through spiritual guidance, discipleship training, and Bible education.

His career includes serving as a lifeguard lieutenant for the City of Del Mar, where Mr. Schooler oversaw a community services department, implemented training programs, upgraded rescue equipment, and coordinated life-saving operations. His background also includes roles as a ski patrol professional, volunteer firefighter, and advanced first aid and CPR instructor, with expertise in emergency medical response, avalanche control, and mountain safety.

Since 1984, Mr. Schooler has volunteered with the Del Mar and Solana Beach Optimist Club, where he previously served as president. He is also a skier, surfer, and private pilot. A graduate of the University of Redlands, he remains engaged in professional and volunteer capacities.
